Borneo

Hi Everyone, We arrived this afternoon in KotoKinabalu,Sabah which is an island off the east coast of Borneo which is still part of Malaysia.  We arrived at 1200 and took a water taxi out to this most beautiful resort.  We are staying at the Gayana Eco resort.  You can check our accomodation section for more details however it is absolutely stunning.  We have a little hut which has our own private balcony that goes right into the ocean.  I just go down 3-4 stairs and go snorkelling from there in the warm turqoise water.  I saw many beautiful coral, star fish and lots of fish.  The coral is not that colorful compared to Australia but it is still neat to see the fish dodging in and out from underneath it.    We have a marine research centre right here as well that we will check out tomorrow.  We had our own private Malay satay 101 cooking class this afternoon where we got to eat what we made. It was delicious.  There is only one other couple and a few girls in the entire resort.  The staff are waiting on us hand and foot.  It is a nice treat from the busy Penang and the race site. We were very tired from our early morning departure thus had a good ciesta this afternoon.   My gardening friends would be jealous! we are surrounded by the most incredible aray of tropical flowers.  Tomorrow we will be checking out the jungle hike and then just hanging out.
